Description And Objectives

This hands-on workshop evaluates a website’s real performance with AI search engines and agents. It provides a structured approach to the key elements required for a rigorous, relevant GEO audit.

Using audit tools, participants learn how to verify a site’s technical accessibility (crawlability, JavaScript rendering), the compliance and quality of structured data, and the semantic relevance of written content. The training also helps identify technical and editorial blockers that limit the ability of platforms such as ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, or Perplexity to cite a site as a trusted reference.

Learning objectives:

  • Master the methodology of a GEO-specific audit (different from a traditional SEO audit)
  • Diagnose rendering (JavaScript) and HTML structure issues
  • Audit the semantic quality of your written content
  • Produce a prioritized action plan to fix technical and editorial gaps

You will need:

  • A website to audit
  • A crawler such as Screaming Frog or Sitebulb
  • Access to Google Search Console

Training Plan

  1. Distinguish indexing bots (Googlebot) from training bots (GPTBot, CCBot) and live answer bots.
  2. The GEO auditor’s toolkit.
  3. Rendering test: identify whether critical content is hidden behind complex JavaScript.
  4. Schema validation: spot errors, missed opportunities, and verify entity nesting.
  5. Content audit (structure): format analysis. Example: is your content structured for “direct answers” (lists, tables, clear definitions)?
  6. Content audit (Part 2 – semantics): information density analysis. Is the text rich enough for vectors, or is it empty marketing fluff that AI can easily detect and ignore?
  7. Checklist to verify credibility signals (author pages, cited sources, “About” page) that AI systems look for.
  8. Optimization best practices for audio, video, and visual content.
  9. Prioritization: how to build the audit report—separating quick wins from deeper, rebuild-level work.

Target Audience

This workshop is designed for people who will actually do the work:

  • Agency or in-house SEO specialists
  • Web developers responsible for performance and indexing
  • Web project managers leading a site redesign
  • Senior web writers who want to ensure their content is being read by AI
